Fangirling

keep-calm-and-love-your-fandoms

So what is fangirling exactly?

We hear this word a lot through out this blog. Okay, we read this word a lot. It’s pretty much the premise for this blog.

Well, fangirling is an assortment of things. It’s an inside joke in the form of a t-shirt that simply says, SHER-Locked. It’s a giddy school girl scream when we see an actor in two different fandom-verses (Benedict, I’m talking to you). It’s calling in sick to re-watch the entire series in anticipation for it’s premiere. It is madness and passion and an incredible love for something. Whether it’s Doctor Who or the NBA playoffs, (That’s a thing right?) we have all fangirled at one time or another.

Fangirling. It’s a thing. A wonderful thing.

Reasons to start watching Agents of SHIELD

Just like any show, blogs sometimes may experience a hiatus. I am so sorry for that but now were back and better than ever!

It is very hard to make that big switch from giant blockbuster movie franchise to some time slot on ABC.  I, like many other viewers, was very weary about how this show would play out. I did not want to get my hopes up in case it might suck, or get too attached in case it was canceled. But somehow, someway, Joss Whedon and all involved in the making of this show, just did something right.

From the beginning pilot, I have kept up with this show and it just keeps on getting better. I find myself putting down my cell phone and focusing all my brain power on what is happening on the screen. The action is wonderful and the actors just are awesome and Clark Gregg, well, he is just gold.

So, in case you are wondering if this show is worth it, here are my reasons that you should.

Fandom HQ: An App Idea

Screen Shot 2014-02-24 at 3.11.38 PM

This is the dashboard which will display all relevant information to the person that has logged in. New trailers, upcoming showings, and relevant information will be displayed here.

For those of you who don’t know, I created this blog for a class. And alas! Another assignment. This one is suppose to be about an app I would create that goes together with my blog. So my fellow Fandomers, brace yourselves. What you are about to see is an imaginary app of my own creation. *Hold all applause and questions for the comment section below!

Behold! Fandom HQ. An app that fits every Fangirl and Fanboy’s needs. Think IMDb. Think Pintrest. Think Spotify playlists. All rolled into one, this baby is sure to please the everyday Fan wanting their Kindom’s information at their fingertips. Information on whether the show is coming back for another season or not. Information about what is on tonight and if they released the new trailer. All information that can be found on Fandom HQ.

Fandom HQ works very much like IMDb. You receive information about the shows, actors and movies you love. The difference is you can customize it. It is just for you. Like Spotify or Pintrest, you can create Fandom playlists or boards. So when you are logged in, your dashboard will contain all information that is relevant to you.

The first thing you do is create an account. After, you are asked to start choosing your shows, actors and movies you would like to see pop up on your dashboard. Once you have searched and added it to your list, your dashboard will display any trailers that are related to your list. Information about what is coming on tonight and any news about said show/film/actor.

Pretty neat huh? Would you say it is Nerd-tastic? Anyways, this is only an idea guys. This was for class and I am not some super genius that can make apps willy-nilly. So do not get so over-excited.

-With love, Nerd.

This is what the search page will look like. You type in the show/film/actor and once you select, you simply add to the list.

Joss Whedon Killed My Favorite Character

A rant on Joss Whedon

Now it’s no secret that Joss Whedon has a reputation for, uh well, you know, um killing off characters.

I mean, he is really known for killing off people.

I know. I’m still upset over the Spike’s death in the series finale of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

And now, he’s talking of killing a major character in the new Avengers movie, Avengers:  Age of UltronThis man is mad with power.

Is it not enough that you killed Coulson in the first movie?

Oh, wait. Coulson wasn’t his idea. Well, I guess he is not all that bad. I mean maybe we should talk about his good traits. Yeah?

Okay, um well. Good traits. Hmm. Oh yeah, he is definitely a fangirl.

And well, he seems like a normal person.

And he has words, of um, well wisdom.

But we shouldn’t give him too much credit. After all, he is Joss Whedon, lurking around the corner just waiting to kill off your favorite character.

So remember, when watching anything created by Joss Whedon, watch out. Joss Whedon, you smug bastard!
