Reasons to start watching Agents of SHIELD

Just like any show, blogs sometimes may experience a hiatus. I am so sorry for that but now were back and better than ever!

It is very hard to make that big switch from giant blockbuster movie franchise to some time slot on ABC.  I, like many other viewers, was very weary about how this show would play out. I did not want to get my hopes up in case it might suck, or get too attached in case it was canceled. But somehow, someway, Joss Whedon and all involved in the making of this show, just did something right.

From the beginning pilot, I have kept up with this show and it just keeps on getting better. I find myself putting down my cell phone and focusing all my brain power on what is happening on the screen. The action is wonderful and the actors just are awesome and Clark Gregg, well, he is just gold.

So, in case you are wondering if this show is worth it, here are my reasons that you should.

Guardians of the Galaxy

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy trailer premiered during a Tuesday showing of “Jimmy Kimmel Live”.

Directed and written by James Gunn, known for the 2004 film Dawn of the Dead and 2006 Slither, the trailer certainly seemed to come out of left field.

Starring Chris Pratt and John C. Reilly, the trailer featured an abundance of space filled action and unexpected comedy. With characters like a narcissistic yet goofy, lead man known as “Star-Lord” and a raccoon named “Rocket”, this film is expected to be nothing like the heroes of the Marvel Avengers that fans have become accustomed to.

Based on the comic, Guardians of the Galaxy follow the anti-hero known as Star-Lord who happens to stumble upon an evil plan while stealing some orb thingy.

Teamed up with a ragtag squad of alien misfits, Star-Lord attempts to stop said evil plan.

With odd humor and funky music accompanying the trailer, we can only assume that this film is going to be either the dumbest movie ever created or the best thing that could possibly grace this earth.

I Love You Like a Fangirl

Today is Valentine’s Day, and unlike many of my fellow Fandomers, I do not hate it. I think it is actually pretty nice.

Valentine’s does not have to be a crap fest of one-day-lovers. Any holiday that displays chocolate like its diamonds is a holiday I want to be apart of. So, if you’re feeling like this Friday has turned into a Singles Awareness Day, do a very nerdy thing about it.

Grab some friends who understand your Fandom, buy an over abundance of snacks, and binge watch your favorite show. That is better than any stupid-suit-up-wine-and-dine-fancy-shmancy-dinner.

It is time to make a date with Harry Potter, Buffy, Game of Thrones and any other Fandom you may be apart of. It is time to do what all good Fandomers do on any occasion, make it about the Fandom!

And while you’re over indulging in snacks and wonderful television and movies, check out these 20 Nerd-tastic V-day cards.

Joss Whedon Killed My Favorite Character

A rant on Joss Whedon

Now it’s no secret that Joss Whedon has a reputation for, uh well, you know, um killing off characters.

I mean, he is really known for killing off people.

I know. I’m still upset over the Spike’s death in the series finale of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

And now, he’s talking of killing a major character in the new Avengers movie, Avengers:  Age of UltronThis man is mad with power.

Is it not enough that you killed Coulson in the first movie?

267d8686df5e56f1277c3afd16705973

Oh, wait. Coulson wasn’t his idea. Well, I guess he is not all that bad. I mean maybe we should talk about his good traits. Yeah?

Okay, um well. Good traits. Hmm. Oh yeah, he is definitely a fangirl.

And well, he seems like a normal person.

And he has words, of um, well wisdom.

b59b270fa88594f3c01724ee3b491997

But we shouldn’t give him too much credit. After all, he is Joss Whedon, lurking around the corner just waiting to kill off your favorite character.

So remember, when watching anything created by Joss Whedon, watch out. Joss Whedon, you smug bastard!

Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Chris Evens is once again taking on the role of Captain American in the latest movie from the Marvel Avenger series. Captain America: The Winter Soldier, picks up where the Avengers left off.

After the alien war in New York, Steve Rogers (Captain America’s alias) tries to adapt to the modern world and battles a new enemy from the Soviet known as the Winter Soldier.

In the 2011 film Captain America: The First Avenger, as a scrawny kid with an extreme passion to join the army during World War 2. His physical condition leaves him unfit to be apart of the war and is rejected many times. Then Stanley Tucci comes in (once again taking pity on the underdog) and places him in an experiment headed by Tony Stark’s father, Howard.

Of course, a couple run ins with some bad historical guys happen. The skinny kid becomes a hero who is buff. And so on and so on, until, America risks his life, ends up being frozen and wakes up to a modern world and joins the avengers.

This movie was filled with action and witty humor. We can only hope the writers keep the same components that made the first movie so great.
